Move over Don and Betty Draper, there’s a new hot couple in town! That’s right, I’d like to introduce you to Mr and Mrs Schneider. They are ooooooozing with style. Ali and Jonny tied the knot in late April at Melbourne’s Old Treasury Building, on what threatened to be a dark and rainy day. But, like their beaming smiles the sun shone brightly just when we needed it.
All of the wedding preparations happened in a fantastic room at the Grand Hyatt high above Melbourne town, although I’d forgive you for thinking it had a bit of the Manhattan about it. The view was breathtaking out the enormous windows, and the view inside was pretty spectacular too. Ali was effortlessly stylish. Effortlessly. I’m convinced she looks this gorgeous when she jumps out of bed in the morning and if she wasn’t so darn lovely I’d have to hate her for it! I almost hyperventilated when she produced the AMAZING gold stranded necklace she was wearing. Stunning.
And Jonny, where do I start? Jonny had a bespoke suit made by P Johnson (Jonny admits to having a bit of a man crush – and I can see why!), and the details were beatiful, right down to the embroidered monogram on the inside. Clever clogs Jonny also designed his own wedding invitations, AND his own wedding ring. A gold band that was faceted, so simple and yet so interesting and beautiful. Lovely, good looking and talented. These guys are shaping up to be my couple of the year.
OH! SUITS YOU SIR!
Turns out Ali’s engagement and wedding rings had also been made especially for her. These guys have such a great eye for design and style. Oh and they really love to laugh!
Sometimes I ask bridal couples if they can dance, to see what photos I get, normally I get a sort of waltz or a bit of a twist, or a flat out NO! Ali just jumped on in there with a hip hop move (in heels!) not what I was expecting, but man did she crack me up, and look at her figure in this shot! SMOKING!
The reception was a short distance away in North Melbourne so we hitched a lift on the City Circle tram, which had conveniently turned blue to match in with Jonny’s look.
I adore the way Ali scrunches up her nose when she smiles at Jonny You two are just too gorgeous.
Champagne, canapes and congratulations greeted Ali and Jonny on arrival at Libertine in North Melbourne. (One guest INSISTED I try one of the canapes as they were delicious – sir, I concur! But do I have parsley in my teeth now?) As the guests were seated for the delicious lunch that awaited in the elegant private dining room, I discreetly slipped away, secretly hoping some of Ali and Jonny’s style rubbed off on me.
