I’m getting married! Well, I’m thinking of organising my own wedding. “SO WHAT?” I hear you ask. People do this all the time.
Well, you see, I’m single. There I said it. Oh, I know how crazy that sounds.
But it’s not that I’m planning a wedding I’ll have with some future dream man that I meet. And it’s not that I am marrying myself like Sue Silvester on Glee. (although – that blue Adidas tracksuit dress was inspired!) And before you say it, this is not a single girl’s rant about not getting any presents or parties à la Carrie on Sex and the City.
It’s a little more like the Friends episode – “The One With All The Wedding Dresses”. I want to know how it feels. I want to understand what it takes and what my clients go through. I want to know what it’s really like to plan a wedding.
And I’m sure its STRESSFUL. There are so many decisions to be made. So many traps you can fall into, and so much money to spend.
I think I’ll start start from the very beginning, find a ring, propose to myself, tell my family, create a budget. maybe I’ll try on dresses. YES! And I’ll report back on all of it. The good, the bad and the ugly. And hopefully I’ll have something useful to tell you all at the end of it.
Should I do it? any recommendations of things I should look at?
